About Your Doula,
Baby Bloom Maternal Care
My Story
Hey- I am Ashley!
I have been fascinated by birth and babies from a very young age. I would always pretend I was a mama and took my babies with me wherever I went. As I grew older, I was drawn to the birth stories and experiences of the women in my life. My mom still cries to this day telling how I was born not breathing and it felt like the room just stood still. My mother-in-law birthed my now husband breech and was also not breathing. What struck me most, was how pivotal their care providers were in how they felt about the experiences as a whole; the autonomy and dignity given to them, and the level of support they received, all played a part in their birth journey that left a lasting impression.
Since then, I have attended college and graduated with my Elementary Education Degree with an Early Childhood endorsement. I got married to my high school sweetheart and we had four beautiful babies. My first was a cesarean for breech presentation but the other three I was fortunate to have 3VBACs. I have witnessed how transformative the birth experience is to a woman and the impactful role her emotions and autonomy play into it. The confidence gained through a supported birth experience empowers mothers to trust in themselves and gain confidence. THIS is why I became a birth worker. I want each woman to feel empowered, supported, and advocated for Evidence Based Care in their birth experience.
